Bioactive Fractions Isolated from By-Products of the Guava (Psidium guajava) and Mango (Mangifera indica L.) Agri-Food Industry

Valorizing agri-food industrial waste is essential for a circular economy, yielding high-value products, reduction, technological solutions, employment opportunities, and enhanced food security. This work shows the valorization of seeds generated as residues from industries guava pera (Psidium guajava) Tommy Atkins mango (Mangifera indica L.), through extraction with supercritical carbon dioxide (scCO2). After optimization initial solid condition raw material (i.e., particle size moisture content), scCO2 pressure temperature were established response surface methodology (RSM) to obtain an oily extract highest content in bioactive compounds commercial relevance, well high antioxidant capacity. The total amount was 14% 9%, respectively, while maximum recovery 95% at 38 MPa 50 °C, 88% 37 63 °C. Bioactive fractions rich squalene, γ-tocopherol, α-tocopherol, campesterol, β-sitosterol, stigmasterol obtained. best conditions, terms richest minor compounds, 17 °C 23 seeds. At these capacities also found extracts. Thus, could be used variety products cosmetic, food, pharmaceutical, medical activities due beneficial properties identified health antioxidants, anti-inflammatories, cholesterol reducers.
